Computer For Media Communication and Information

computer as a medium of communication between the world's population

Communication is a process where a person or persons, groups , organizations , and societies create, and useinformation in order to connect with the environment and other people
In general, the communication can be eitherverbal or non-verbal and verbal with the note can be understood by both parties. Along with the development of technology, computers are not only used as a calculating machine, it can be used as a medium of communication. So comes the social studies known as Computer Mediated Communication .

In carrying out the process, the computer and the human being can not stand alone. According to Harold Dwight Lasswell, a political scientist and communications theory of America, there is the so-called communication with 5W models, namely: Who, What, Whom, What channel, and What effect . So based on this theory, the CMC can be divided into 5 components: Subject, Host , Source of Information, Channel , and Effect.
The first component is the subject. CMC is the subject of the man who acts as the creator, provider and recipient network ( Network users ). The second component, namely the host . In computer networking, networkhost is a computer connected to the Internet. The computer that is not connected to the internet simply a calculating machine. In the CMC system, the host not only includes the hardware but including the software that are integratedto provide network services . The third component is the source of information. Is a variety of resources obtained dari network not me ncakup all information entered into the Internet, but only the part that meets the demands of user information . What distinguishes CMC with other communication is the opposite diverse, accessible, fast and wide distribution making it possible to obtain information quickly and accurately.
Next is the channel. Channel CMC generally consists of network facilities, network news transfer protocol (network news transfer protocols NTTP ) and media networks facilities and media is the hardware hardware)including cable, submarine cable, sa Telit while the included software software ) is a wide variety of applications that provide network information, such as NTTP.
The final component is the result of the CMC. As well as communication with other media, CMC also has an effect or social impacts, both positive and negative. The positive social impact that we can easily establish communication with relatives, friends, or friends without being obstructed by the distance, the information can be easily accessed and wide distribution. Negative social impacts include widespread fraud via the Internet, widespread perjuadian online, with the ability to deliver information that is so rapid, rampant pornography.
